𝗘𝗽𝗶𝘀𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝟬: Why Information Security Isn’t Just IT’s Problem
When you hear “TISAX®” or “Information Security,” you might think:
“𝘛𝘩𝘢𝘵’𝘴 𝘢𝘯 𝘐𝘛 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨. 𝘞𝘦’𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘶𝘺 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘧𝘵𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘣𝘦 𝘥𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘵.”
Unfortunately, that’s not how it works, especially in the automotive industry.
Information security is a 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝘂𝗶𝘁𝘆 issue. It’s about protecting your company’s ability to operate tomorrow, not just keeping hackers out today.
And TISAX® is the industry-wide badge that says: “𝘞𝘦 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘪𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘭𝘺.”
In this blog series, I’ll break down the TISAX® requirements, based on the latest VDA ISA (Information Security Assessment) catalog, into something every decision maker will understand.
No academic lectures. No legal fine print.
Just clear, real-world explanations – and what they mean for your business.
We’ll cover:
- Why information security 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗹𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹, not the server room
- How small gaps in daily operations can become big risks
- Why you can’t just trust your suppliers and business partners blindly
- And what practical steps you can take now – before a client asks for your TISAX® label – and before dropping you off their approved vendor list
Each post will cover one piece of the puzzle, based on the seven key sections of the TISAX® controls, showing you:
- What it’s about
- Why it matters
- How it impacts your company day-to-day
