What is TISAX®?

TISAX® (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) is the automotive industry’s standard for assessing and sharing Information Security maturity across the supply chain. It is governed by ENX Association on behalf of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA – Verband der Automobilindustrie).

It enables organizations to demonstrate that information assets of any type are protected in a consistent, industry-accepted way.

Who TISAX® Applies To

TISAX® matters to organizations that:

  • Participate anywhere in the automotive supply chain, across all tiers, including capital equipment manufacturers and service providers

  • Handle sensitive or confidential information, regardless of format or origin

  • Provide manufacturing, engineering, IT, software, logistics, or professional services to automotive customers

If a customer requests TISAX®, it is typically a commercial requirement, and not optional.

Many organizations are already contractually obligated to comply with TISAX® through existing purchasing or supplier agreements, often without realizing it.
